Q

full thickness buccal envelope flap
principles ?
what makes it an envelope flap?

A

no vertical release is what makes it an envelope flap

and there is no remnant of soft tissue between the operator and the surgical field

  • the flap must have a base that is broader than the free gingival margin
  • if too narrow blood supply may be inadquate
