why is the Shahaddah important to all Muslims?

A
  • contains the basic beliefs of Islam, which are central to the faith (Tawhid)
  • starting point of Muslim beliefs : when stated , the person shows their commitment to following Allah and submitting to Allah through their life
  • reinforces beliefs in Tawhid and Risalah (six beliefs of Islam)
  • all muslims believe in the shahadah, showing how they are united as an ummah - can be spoken with a group so it strengthens a person’s identiy as part of the Islamic faith
