A

1) observe in a quiet room, allow a few minutes to sniff and get comfortable
2) test sound reaction - starting with voice pitch, dropping keys etc
3) touch - slowly approach, allowing small approximations from the day
4) play - how does it interact with human to play, toys,
5) walk - observe body language
6) test with fake dog / cats, move to real one with safety barriers
