1) Ultraviolet radiation disrupts/splits water molecules that release Hydrogen (H2) (escape to space) and free oxygen (O2)

3) Ozone blocks most ultraviolet radiation (self-limiting process)
4) Some 02 released into atmosphere (at most a few %)
