Q

Evaluate the effectiveness of two technologies used to address vision disorder

A

Spectacles/contacts-> simple but may be expensive
Myopia: Corrective artifical lens with a concave lens can adjust the angle light enters in a way so light is focused on the retina, diverging the image.

Hyperopia: Corrective artificial lens with a convex lens can adjust the angle light enters in a way so light is focused on the retina, converging the image.

Cataract Surgery-> Shape of artifical lens cannot accodmate for light reflected off objects distances away also cannot change shape, quick and painless procedure
Intraocular lens implantation (ILO) corrects cataracts. A surgical procedure removes the cloudy lens for the lens capsule and inserts an artificial one.

Q

Evaluate the effectiveness of educational campaigns on Type 1 diabetes and Type 2 diabetes

A

Educational campaigns are limited as it only raises awareness , encourages people to pick up on healty habits and receive checkups and deters people from unhealthy habits. It is ineffective in preventing Type 1 diabetes as it is not related to lifestyle factors, but could be effective in preventing the incidence of Type 2 diabetes as it can be avoided with the right dietary choices and exercise.
