A

What is a referendum and give an example

A

Citizens vote on issues and which ever has the most decisions will make the govt create a policy based on the response, e.g is the 2016 UK european union referendum

Advantages of direct democracy

A

All votes are equally as valuable, people are more likely to vote knowing their vote matters and citizens can make decisions to improve their country

A

Citizens can make poor informed decisions due to being manipulated by media or simply by how the question is set out. People can also vote on their emotions rather than knowledge
