  1. add few drops containing sample to clean slide using pipette
  2. lower coverslip over specimen gently press down to remove air bubbles

A
  1. use scissors/scalpel to cut small sample of tissue, peel away/cut v thin layer of cells from tissue sample
  2. place sample onto slide (drop of water)
  3. apply iodine stain
  4. lower coverslip

how to prepare slide using human cells

A
  1. brush teeth thoroughly
  2. sterile cotton swab scrape inside cheek surface 5-10s
  3. smear swab on centre of slide 2-3s
  4. drop of methylene blue
  5. coverslip
  6. absorb excess solution by allowing paper towel to touch one side of coverslip
