Q

How do you calculate Mr?

A

it is the sum (added up) of the Ar values of the elements in the molecule

e.g. to find the Mr of Hv2, you look at the Ar, and add it to the number of molecules of that element - so 1+1 = 2.0g.mol^-1

Q

How do you calculate the RFM?

A

you add up the Ar values together to give you the RFM

e.g.

NaCl = 23 + 35.5 = 58.5g.mol^-1
