Q

At What range do processes happen at a reasonable rate?

A

When particle have ration Ea/KT between 15-30

So 15-30 kt

Q

How to calculate the fraciton of particles sith extra energy?

A
  • if the extra energy needed is big f will be small as very collisions would result in that activation eneegy
  • the ration is NE=f^N

Q

Why do very small proportion of particles react?

A

For a fair rate the ration of Ea/KT needs to be betweend 15-30
This means particles would have to get 15-30 times there avergae eneergy when they collide
The fraction this happens would be f^15-30
-so a very small proportions get this activation energy

Q

Why is the small fraction of succesfull collisions not negliglbe?

A

-huge numbers of particles collide each second so fraction still adds to a large number
