Introduction-

A

In Blood Brothers, Willey Russel portrays Mrs Lyons as a privileged upper class woman in Thatcherite Britain. Russell uses Mrs Lyons as a vehicle to ultimately, comment on social injustice in 1980’s Britain and remind the audience of the manipulative nature the upper class exhibit. Perhaps, Blood Brother is best read as a critique of Thatcherite Britain of where class plays a vital role which can even control a character’s life.
