A
Basically Hb that contains Fe3+ but cannot transport oxygen. Causes pseudocyanosis, tissue hypoxia and death.
normal amount: 0.7%
20% -> hypoxemia
60-80% -> death

Oxidising agents
A
Chlorates, perchlorates
directly oxidise Hb

Nitrites
A
Nitroglycerin, amylnitrite
Gets converted to nitrates while Fe2+ becomes Fe3+

Aromatic amino- and nitro-compounds

Amine - oxidation
Nitro - reduction
Fucks with the Fe2+ of Hb turning into Fe3+
