  3. Alfonso i of Aragon donated his entire kingdom to the Templars in his will, in 1134
  4. Relied on donations from the West
  5. “In Praise of a New Knighthood” was written by Bernard of Clairvaux in the 1120’s
  6. Joined the Siege of Damascus in 1148
  7. Helped to capture Ascalon in 1153
  8. Gave food and supplies to the crusaders on the Second Crusade, as well as providing a banking service for Louis vii
