what does the irregular rhyme scheme tell us

remains and poppies

A

poppies: shows that the mother is slowly breaking down which can also connotate the revealing of the true affection of war

Remains: loss of self-control and lost control of self-conscience. gives the PTSD the chance to flow into his brain taking over his own control

Q

what does spasms of paper red represent and sellotaped bandaged mean

A

both of these quotes easily show that the mother is emotionally wounded from the death of her son. this can also connotate how her son was killed possibly

his death is seen as slow and painful as he was ‘sellotaped bandaged’ and cover in blood with the connotation of ‘red’
