State an effect of having an excess of carbohydrates in the diet.

A
Obesity (if we do not burn off enough energy). 
Damage to the pancreas. This reduces the amount of insulin in our bodies and can lead to type 2 diabetes. 
Tooth decay (from eating too many sugary foods).
