Specific Nursing Considerations

A

Check reflexes
Avoid IM injection
Monitor apical pulse for full min - hold for <60 bpm
Admin IV over 5 minutes minimum
Weigh pt everyday same time AM
Emergency equipment: K+ salts, lidocaine, phenytoin, atropine, cardiac monitor
Obtain digoxin levels ( 2-3)
