  1. Landmark knowledge is unaffected, so it doesn’t matter if you’re walking around or not. So if you want to measure this knowledge, you can also use a screen.

Which 4 categories does eHealth consist of?

A
  1. Communication: electronic solutions for personal contact, providing additional information using smartphones or online portals.
  2. Self-management: additional to regular care, meant to affect the behavior of the patient, e.g. wearables, step counters, app for medication use.
  3. Tracking and monitoring: also additional information, but now to help in the data analyses and diagnosis and treatment decisions, e.g. bloodmarkers, vital signs.
  4. Record keeping: much more passive form of applying electronics, meant to lead to easier communication (different clinicians can have access and work in the same files) –> here, privacy isues need to be considered.

A

A computer-based system that acquires brain signals, analyzes them, and translates them into commands that are relayed to an output device to carry out a desired action, to allow for enhancement of quality of life.

Principles of Brain Computer Interface / how does it work?

A

Measurement (oxygen level/EEG waves) –> processing of that information –> extract features that are relevent –> we make a prediction –> the output emerges and goes to the user to verify if that’s what they meant –> the output is stimulated (e.g. with a visual picture, or a written text).
