Q

Give 4 causes of Nephrogenic DI.

A
  1. Drugs e.g. Lithium.
  2. Mutation in AVPR2 Gene on X Chromosome (coding for ADH Receptor).
  3. Intrinsic Kidney Disease.

Q

What is the method for the DI Investigation of Choice? (4)

A
  1. Avoid fluid intake for 8 hours (fluid deprivation).
  2. Measure urine osmolality.
  3. Administer Synthetic ADH - Desmopressin.
