Q

Why would you want to “Save the home folder to a disk image” when deleting a users account?

A

MacOS saves the disk image file in /Users/Deleted Users folder and gives it the name of the account so you can copy it to another Mac computer or into another user’s home folder, as long as there is enough space.

Q

Why would you want to select “Don’t change the home folder” when deleting a users account?

A

MacOS appends “(Deleted)” to the home folder name to signify that the user no longer exists and the deleted user’s home folder keeps the same restrictions as a normal user home folder.
