Background
What was the aim of this study
To show that funhaler which has toys in it can provide positive reinforcement which leads to improved obedience in young asthmatics
What was the research method
Field experiment- was conducted in the participants homes
Repeated measures
IV- whether the child used a standard small volume spacer device or whether the child used a funhaler
DV- amount of adherence to the prescribed medical regime

32 children- 3.2 years old- who were prescribed drugs by the spacer were recruited

The parents provided consent and participated through completing questionnaires and phone interviews
What happened before the research
Participants were approached at home and interviewed with a questionnaire about their current inhaler
How long where they given the funhaler for ?
2 weeks and reported over the phone whether they had used it the previous day
What happened after they had been using them both
The researcher visited them again and parents were interviewed and given the matched questionnaire

How easy each device was to use obedience of parents and children treatment attitudes
