What are the hormones occurred in lactation?

A

Prolactin, Oestrogen, Human placental lactogen and progesterone

What is the process of lactation?

A

Progesterone stops the the body from making loads of milk before the baby is born.
When the placenta is delivered, the progesterone levels drops. Then prolactin levels rise to allow the breasts to lactate. This hormone also drives a mothering instinctive and works along side oxytocin (the love hormone).

What is perimenopause?

A

The process when the oestrogen levels drop. This decrease delays the egg from being released each month.

When the egg stops being released each month and reproductive hormone levels decrease.

  • Hot flushes (Caused by low levels of norepinephrine),
  • Night sweats,
  • Viginal dryness,
  • Loss of libido,
  • Urinary leaking,
