Q

Demographic changes - immigration ( structure of society)

A
  • the Uk has become more diverse so there are more ethnically people.
  • this could lead to more immigration. For example the hostile environment policy was made.
This is aimed to make it hard for immigrants to live in the UK by not providing healthcare, this came into effect in 2014.
  • Even though this country has become more diverse discrimination still is happening and many people don’t like how diverse our country is becoming so they wanted to place this policy to reduce the amount of immigrants coming. This is why they developed this policy

Cultural changes

A
  • due to cultural changes over time the public perceptions of homosexuality have changed

Due to secularisation ( decline in religion) views on homosexuality have changed and their are now policies helping those discriminated against. And due to secularisation there are less traditional views on certain subjects such as homosexuality.

A policy that has been made is the same sex couples act in 2013 - so legally same sex couples could get married
