What are our rights?
Our rights are what every human being deserves, no matter who they are or where they live, so that we can live in a world that is fair and just.
What is responsibility?
Things you need to think about and do so that they allow other people to have their rights supported.
What are some rights in the workplace?(3)
To be treated fairly and not be discriminated against.
Not to be unfairly dismissed.
To be given annual leave, family responsibility leave and maternity leave.
What are responsibilities in the workplace for the employer? (5)
To pay the employee the amount that was agreed.
Ensure safe and secure working environment/conditions.
Treat employees with respect and dignity.
Provide fair layout practices-having fair conditions in terms of hours, min wage, lunch break, sick leave.
Right to strike (within law boundaries)
What are responsibilities in the workplace for the employee? (4)
Act honestly.
Work positively.
Obey all instructions (as long as lawful/reasonable).
Do the job you and your employer agreed to.
Why is it important to take opportunities in the workplace?(4)
Growth and development helping employees expand their knowledge.
Gain skills and abilities.
Learning on site to grow and contribute to a culture built around performance.
More likely to succeed as an employee when given the opportunities.
