A

Parasite that causes most gastroenteritis outbreaks. It can remain infectious even when exposed to disinfectant levels.

AFR (accidental fecal releases)

A

if an AFR occours, direct all patrons to leave all the pools that use the same filter system
Remove as much of the fecal material as possible with scoops or net, try not to break stool apart. Clean and disinfect the scoop

Formed stool procedure

A

Continue to operate filtration system
Adjust pH to below 7.5
Raise the chlorine level to at least 2ppm
Maintain those levels for 25 mins before re-opening the pool

Diarrheal discharge procedure

A

Continue to operate the circulation system
Adjust the pH to below 7.5
Raise the chlorine to at least 20ppm
Maintain those levels for 13 hours
Backwash the filter
Return the chlorine level to normal levels
