  • excessive anxiety or worry occurring more days than not for 6mths or more. Difficult to control this worry, with 3 or more symptoms:
  • Fatugue
  • Restlessness
  • Irritability
  • Sleep disturbance

benzos

  • rapid onset but risk of dependance
  • suppress the CNS and enhance effects of GABA
  • GABA makes neurones less responsive to excitatory neurotransmitters and therefore reduces symptoms of anxiety
  • cause drowsiness
