What impression material and tray is used for occlusal splints?

A

Alginate with metal rim-lock tray for arch requiring splint. For other arch, can use plastic disposable tray. Snap removal required

When is a bite registration required for splints? How to do it?

A

If no posterior stops present/several teeth missing. Place cotton roll anteriorly or on canines bilaterally. Inject PVS material around that area

What are CLEARSPLINTS?

A

Slightly flexible and not completely hard like acrylic splint. Should have flat occlusal plane.
When you receive it, place into warm water for 30 seconds and then in insert in mouth.
