Q

Borders of lateral ventricle, anterior horn (frontal horn)

A

lateral wall: the head of the caudate nucleus
medial wall: septum pellucidum
superior wall: radiation of the body of the corpus callosum
anterior wall: radiation of the genu of the corpus callosum
inferior wall: radiation of the rostrum of the corpus callosum

Q

Borders of lateral ventricle, posterior horn (occipital horn)

A

the walls are the white matter of the occipital lobe
superior-lateral wall: radiation of corpus callosum (tapetum)
medial wall: calcar avis (elevation caused by calcarine sulcus)
inferior wall: collateral trigone at the end of the collateral eminence (elevation caused by collateral sulcus)

Q

Borders of lateral ventricle, inferior horn (temporal horn)

A

superior and lateral walls: white matter, mainly the radiation of the corpus callosum (tapetum), above it the optic radiation,
medially in the superior wall the tail of caudate nucleus and the stria terminalis is located
inferior wall: collateral eminence (lateral), hippocampus (medial) with the fimbria hippocampi, which is continuous with the
crus of the fornix (the hippocampus anteriorly forms pes hippocampi)
medial wall: the tela choroidea including vessels (together called choroid plexus) is pushed into the ventricle (the lamina
epithelialis is attached inferiorly to the fimbria of the hippocampus and to the crus of the fornix - tenia fimbriae (continuous
with the tenia fornicis) and superiorly to the stria terminalis - tenia terminalis (continuous with the tenia choroidea))
choroid plexus of the inferior

Borders of 3rd ventricle

A

3rd ventricle
floor: hypothalamus, preoptic / optic recess, optic chiasma, infundibular recess, tuber cinereum,

anterior wall (telencephalon impar): triangular recess bordered by the 2 columns of the fornix, the anterior commissure
and the rostrum of the corpus callosum; lamina terminalis

lateral wall: thalamus and the hypothalamus separated by the sulcus hypothalamicus, interventricular foramen bordered
by the fornix and the anterior nucleus of the thalamus, interthalamic adhesion

superior wall: the roof is made by the tela choroidea (lamina epithelialis + pia mater) of the 3rd ventricle, contains
choroid plexus; the attachment lines of the lamina epithelialis are the tenia thalami, run on the thalamus (on the stria
medullaris thalami), posteriorly the two tenias run on the habenula, and they meet on the commissura habenularum,
anteriorly the tenia thalami is continuous with the tenia choroidea (through the interventricular foramen),

posterior wall: suprapineal recess, habenular commissure, pineal recess, posterior commissure, beneath it the cerebral
aqueduct starts
