Q

What is condition monitoring used for?

A

To define measurement points for assets and to specify warning and action limits and associated Job Plan to be performed when reaching or exceeding action limits.

9
Q

What is a measurement point?

A

A measurement point record defines limits of acceptable reading for a characteristic or gauge-type meter on an asset or location.

Maximo will automatically generate user-designated work order type with the associated Job Plans for assets or locations whose meter readings are outside action limits.

Q

Who assigns the point number?

A

An auto-numbered field. Maximo assigns the next available record number.

Q

What should be included in the Point Description?

A

Observation or action: Typically in the form of a question

EXAMPLE: Are leaks present? Vibration analysis taken?

Q

What should the meter name begin with if it’s being tracked by the EHS department?

A

EHS Code: Any point that is to be tracked by EHS department shall have the following codes for different systems. These codes are the data points the Maximo EHS reports use to query environmental readings data.

EHS-SW: ALL ROUNDS AND READINGS RELATED TO STORM WATER

16
Q

What meter types can be used against a measurement point?

A

Characteristic and Guage

Characteristic - describe conditions
Gauge: Direct the user to populate numeric data. Which is compared to the action limits.

17
Q

Give an example of a gauge meter?

A

Gauge meters: Fuel Level, temperature, pressure, noise level, or oil level

18
Q

Give an example of a Characteristics meter?

A

Observational in nature and have a list of possible values; OK/NOT OK

19
Q

The round name should mirror what number?

A

The PM record number

20
Q

What defines the order a round must be performed?

A

Sequence: This defines the order in which the round point id performed. The sequence numbers for any round should be in increments of 10.

21
Q

What do upper warning limits tell us and which meter type is it necessary to have an upper warning limit?

A

The Upper limit of normal measurements. Measurements at or above this level alert the user to monitor this point carefully. This value is a warning and should always be lower than the upper action limit. If the meter type is gauge then this field is mandatory. If the meter type is characteristic then the field is read-only.

22
Q

Measurements at or above the designated numerical value are referred to as?

A

Upper limits of warning level measurements. Measurements at or above this level indicate corrective or preventive action is needed.

23
Q

What field is used to indicate if the value is met a PM work order will automatically be generated?

A

Upper Limit PM: This is where the PM record is referenced if the engineer desires a PM work order to be automatically generated when the Upper Action Limit is met or exceeded.

24
Q

Can we reference a job plan for a CM work order to be generated if an upper limit is met and if so where?

A

Yes - Upper Limit Job Plan: This is where a job plan is referenced if the engineer desires a CM work order to be automatically generated with specific job plans when the upper action limit is met or exceeded.

25
Q

If a system engineer wants a CM work order to generate for a characteristic meter where would that be indicated?

A

Characteristics Action Values Section = This is where corrective or preventive follow up work is defined for Characteristic meter points

26
Q

What information will the measurement section tell us?

A

Measurement Date: The calendar date and time the round was entered.
Measurement: The numeric value if the round point meter type domain is Gauge point
Observation: The value if the round point meter type domain is Characteristic
Tech Comments: Any Comments captured by the user performing the round
Technician: Labor ID of End User entering the point reading.

27
Q

Within a condition monitoring point, where can we find all the work order that exceed a gauge action?

A

The history section displays all work orders generated from a measurement that either exceeded a gauge action or a defined characteristic action value.

28
Q

What is the process for removing a round?

A

Remove a round point : the process to remove a point that is no longer needed is to delete all associated sequence numbers from sequence 1 through 3 feilds and values from round 1 through 3 feilds

29
Q

What is a reading?

A

Specific value or condition logged to a point
