England is personified as a mother because it birthed the soldiers. He is the very soul of England and so are the other proud soldiers being England’s son. The soldiers are shaped by England to spread the Englishness.

When the soldiers die, they still live on in people’s memories for patriotism for England. He may die but his thoughts and memories will never be lost.

The soldier is happy to die fighting foe England as he believes he is bringing peace. Giving up his life is paying back to England for creating him. Soldiers enjoy death leaving English mark on earth. ‘English heaven’ is images of friends and happiness of the homeland
