Calvin cycle Flashcards
1
Q
Where does this occur?
A
Stroma
2
Q
how much atp is used for RUBP Regen
A
3 ATP
3
Q
what must be done before one 3-carbon G3P can be removed
A
3 CO2 must be fixed aka Co2 must attach to RUBP 3 times
4
Q
What happens to the G3P that is lost
A
turns into starch in the chloroplasts if glucose productin is not needed
can be hydrolyzed back into glucose when needed (when there is a
lack of light)
usually about 1/3 of G3P is stored as starch
other 2/3 is sucrose
5
Q
xtra info you may neeed to know
A
sucrose is hydrolyzed and products are used for energy, converting to amino acids and lipids, or create other polysaccharides
