Meaning of Validity
The accuracy

Meaning of Internal Validity
The degree of confidence that the casual relationship you are testing isn’t being affected by other factors or variables
Meaning of Ecological Validity
How well does the test performance predict the behaviours in real world settings
Reliability
How consistent and stable the results of an assessment are.
Counterbalancing
A technique used to reduce the change of order effects
Order effect meaning
The order of the conditions having an effect on the participants behaviour.
Demand Characteristics
a subtle action that makes the participants aware of what the experimenter expects to find or how the participants are expected to behave
Standardisation
Putting in place a consistent and a certain standard for a test
Generalisable
A measure of how useful the results of the study are for a broader group of people or situations
Representative
a sample that closely matched the target population as a whole in terms of key variables and characteristics
Target population
the total group of individuals of whom the sample will be drawn from
Inter-rater reliability
Two or more researchers/observers looking at the same thing at the same time and getting the same results
External Reliability
A measure of whether something varies from one time to another. Assessed by using the test retest - same psychological test is given to the same participants on two separate occasions

The extent to which your test accurately assesses what it’s supposed to assess
