Use of physical or moral violence to extract confessions, punish guilty, frighten opponents or satisfy hatred contrary to respect for person and for human dignity.

What is radicalisation?
A
Process people adopt increasingly extreme positions on religious, social or political issues. Often leads people to point where unwilling to accept alternative views, and may use violence to perpetrate own views. Radicalisation tends to take place among younger people who feel rejected by their society or religion.

A
Suffering or death of a martyr known as martyrdom.

Person who suffers pain or death for belief often used to describe person who was killed for their faith.
