What does someone do who is evading Responsibility?

A

Doesn’t deny that they were involved, but blames circumstances or someone else or says it was an accident. Provocation (reaction to what someone else did), Defeasibility (didn’t have enough information), accident (It was an accident), and good intentions (Thought the act would help).

What does Compensating look like?

A

Compensating includes bolstering(Focus on the good we’ve done, not the bad), minimization (make it look smaller than it was), differentiation (It wasn’t as bad as this…or it could have been worse), transcendence (place the act in a different context), attack the accuser (Attack the accuser’s credibility), and compensation(Offer payment to make them go away).
