Drug and dose for status epilepticus: IV and IM option.

A

Lorazepam 0.1mg/kg IV (drug of choice due to longer duration of anti-epileptic action)

(Alternatively, midazolam 10mg IM)

If above fails, give levetiracetam or phenytoin.

If still fails, RSI

Noradrenaline infusion

A

Start at 0.05mcg/kg/minute

Anything over 0.2mcg/kg/minute is considered a high dose

Max out at 2mcg/kg/minute

A

0.5 - 1mg push doses

Repeat every 2-5 minutes

Up to max of 10mg.

Then consider infusion
