What is a stereotype?
Unfair or untrue belief that many people have about all people or things with a Particular characteristics.
What is the stereotypical role of a woman?
Middle class women.
Expected to stay at home and care for the home and family. They was also expected to be obey their husband and they only had little to say.
What is a stereotypical role of a man?
men were expected to go to work and earn money in the family. Men also lived by different rules and expectations than women.
What does the term ‘patriachal society’ mean?
Society favours men over women.
Give three examples that prove An Inspector Calls is set within a patriachal society.
Mr Birling treats women in a condescending, disrespectful manner, even with his own daughter.
