What are the roles of care managers?

A

Care managers
Leadership role, help people in supported housing, residential and/or nursing homes, adults with learning difficulties, people in hospice care.
Care managers are responsible for the running of residential care, appoint and manage staff, budget, ensuring the quality of care meets standards required by the sector. Care managers will manage and supervise duties of care assistants working in the setting.

What are the roles of care assistants?

A

Care assistant
Practical help and support for people who cannot do daily activities. May include supporting older people and their families, children, people with physical or learning disabilities and/or mental health problems. Work in wide range of settings: Residential and nursing homes, supported or sheltered housing complexes
Some duties may be
Personal care- Washing, dressing, toileting, feeding
General household tasks- Cleaning, laundry, and shopping
Paying bulls and writing letters
Liaising with other healthcare professionals

A

Support Workers
Support workers worker under supervision of many health and social care professionals (Physiotherapists,occupational therapist, social workers) . Family support workers may work support social workers. Support workers may work closely with family.
