Evaluation of the ICD Flashcards

1
Q

+ Mason (SZ symptoms - validity)

A

Q

+ Two researchers (reliability)

A

In a study in which two researchers conducted a joint interview to assess 100 consecutive clients for psychosomatic symptoms, the kappa values ranged from 0.69-0.97, showing very high agreement - inter-rater reliability

Q

+ Jakobsen (test with SZ patients - reliability and validity)

A

Jakobsen et al assessed 100 subjects for SZ using the DSM and found high agreement between the clinical diagnoses made using the ICD, and between the ICD and DSM - concurrent validity + inter-rater reliability

Q

A

Hiller compared ICD-10 to DSM-III. The ICD gave higher reliability for all disorders except for bipolar (- however, DSM has improved since third edition)
