Q

Factoring Polynomials of the form
a^2 + 2ab + b^2 or a^2 - 2ab + b^2

A

A polynomial of these forms is the square of a binomial expression. Check the sign in front of the 2ab term. If positive, then the polynomial is equal to (a + b)^2. If negative, then the polynomial is equal to (a - b)^2.
