  • Lapses are temporary set backs.
  • Accumulated lapses result in relapses.

Coping with relapses

A
  • Identify high risk situations for lapses and relapses
  • Suggest ways to cope with these situations
  • Gradual restart if lapses are unavoidable (sickness).
  • Lapses are common, identify what caused the lapse and develop a plan to cope with it in future situations
