Q

Supporting evidence of localisation of function in the brain and brocas area and a limitation of it

A

Patient TAN
- could only say tan
-studied his brain using scans once he died and shows damage to frontal lobe
-shows speech is localised in frontal lobe and that speech production is in Broca’s area
- 8 other patients with language deficit had damage to this area

✖️- the brain was studied after death could have been damaged in removal.
-there was also damage to other areas so language could have been localised there.
