treaties are being disrespected, treaty violations (disease, starvation, residential schools, unconsensual land and resource development, etc.) led to the Idle No More movement, erosion of land and treaty rights to undermine Indig sovereignty, Indig believed it to be guided by nehiyaw (adoptions of each other, no power dynamic, only cooperation)

reconciliation must dismantle colonialist system (termination of treaty rights, returning sacred lands, respecting Indig sovereignty and land, etc.)
