  1. Make sure piston is at TDC.
  2. Grab the Pushrod and move it up and down.
  3. Simultaneously tighten the rocker arm nut just until the pushrod stops moving up and down. That’s zero lash.
  4. Then tighten the rocker nut a 1/2 - 3/4 of a turn further.
