LIDOCAINE

A

INDICATIONS:

VT / VF

stable monomorphic VT with preserved ventricular function

stable polymorphic VT with preserved left ventricular function, normal QT interval, and correction of any electrolyte imbalances.

DOSING: VF / PULSELESS VT:

Give after 3rd round of CPR
1st dose: 1 -1.5 mg / kg
2nd dose: 0.5 - 0.75 mg / kg
Repeat in 5 to 10 minutes
Maximum 3 doses or total of 3mg/kg

ADRs
Cardiovascular:
hypotension, bradycardia, arrhythmias, and/or cardiac arrest.

TOXICITY (STEWISE PATTERN)
Numbness of the tongue, lightheadedness, and visual disturbances -> muscle twitching, unconsciousness, and seizures -> coma, respiratory arrest, and cardiovascular depression.

TOXICITY RISK FACTORS
Liver Dysfuntion
Low Protein
Acidosis
