Origins of human life
Universe still expanding, traced back to one single point. Big Bang
Relationship between science and religion. Evolution vs god created humans perfect the way they are. Conception of time is different in genesis
Coping with the environment
Sanctity of life
All life is special, sacred, deserves to be protected, cherished
Quality of life
How comfortable one feels. Through health and wealth conditions. Treat others as we wish to be treated
Status of human life
Humans have soul, value of human life is beyond measure

Pro life arguments
-All life is sacred, must be protected
-responsibility to protect life stewardship
-abortion is murder
-someone has to defend for the foetus
-QoL of baby with disabilities cannot be predicted, so we cannot forbid that life
Pro choice arguments
-women should have the rights to what happens to their bodies
-if child would put mother’s life at risk then it is necessary
-rape or incest
-if foetus cannot survive outside the womb, should not allow life on its own right
-cruel to allow damaged foetus to be birthed
-women will still have abortion if banned just not safely
Arguing for the right to die
-my body my right my choice
-human right
-only one who can judge if my life is worth living
-compassion to put animals to sleep, should be the same compassion to humans
Arguing against the right to die
- life belongs to god not ourselves + damages everyone (all one in JC)
‘I your lord gave life and I take it away’ - we should care and love for people in their last days not kill them
‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you’
Hospices eg. St Anne’s hospice - doctors and nurses takes oaths to protect life not end it
-illegal in uk
