What is a flood attack
An attempt to send more packets or requests to host than it can handle
What is a smurf attack
Attackers send pings to subnet broadcast addresses.
Devices then reply to the spoofed IP with their addresses which consumes large amounts of resources
What is an XMAS attack
Network scan is performed with the FIN, PSH, and URG flags enabled on the packets to attempt to crash hosts
What is the Ping of Death
Attack that sends oversized and malformed packets to a host
What is a tear drop
Packets are broken into IP fragments and then modified to overlap and contain oversized payloads when sent to victim machines
