Process of soldering

A
  • melting the solder (usually lead and tin)
  • soldering iron with the pointed tip & damp the sponge to clean the tip
  • place the tip on the part that you want to heat
  • wait for few secs to warm the part and connect with the solder

Process of brazing

A
  • get the filler material that is melted by using “OXYACETYLENE” flame
  • clean the surface material
  • heat the joint where 2 pieces will join
  • apply the brazing rod
  • after the process, use a wire brush to clean the surface to remove “OXIDATION” or “RESIDUE”

Welding process

A
  • create a molten pool which can add the filler rod
  • use “OXYACETYLENE” torch and a filler rod
  • add “ACETYLENE” to start the torch and adjust the size of the flame
  • start heating the steel
  • add a filler rod (similar to soldering)

Hot riveting process

A
  • heat your rivet until it turns orange
  • insert your hot rivet to your metal hole by putting the rivet end on top
  • use a machine to press down the hot rivet and it should turn out as a half circular shape

Pop riveting process (when we did the candle holder)

A
  • change/swap the head of the rivet gun
  • put the stem/mandrel into opening head
  • grab the handle in place
  • insert the rivet into your metal pieces
  • press down the handle couple times until the rivet pops out
