What is a sensor
measure a physical variable (temperature, height, speed), represent in a useful format

What is an actuator
Adjust the behaviour of the system, usually by supplying energy or doing work
What is a controller
Decide how to adjust the behaviour of the system usually using sensors
What is a process
the device, plant or system under control
what is a feedback control system
if the controller uses a sensor to measure the response of the process
what is an open loop control system
if the controller does not use the measured response

manual control
automatic mechanical control
automatics electrical control
automatic digital control

no controller, human intervention required
what is automatic mechanical control
intricate mechanical design that implements control
what is automatic electrical control
analogue circuit with operational amplifiers resistors capacitors that manipulate voltages to implement contrl
what is automatic digital control
a computer, microprocessor or PLC, implements control
