There are three types of CDR.

Cat 1 - A route which is permanently plannable during the times published.

Cat 2 - only plannable in accordance with the conditions in daily Airspace Utilisation Plan.

Cat 3 - A route not plannable but may be used tactically at the discretion of ATC.

A CDR may have more than one Category.

Airspace of defined dimensions wherein the carriage and operation of radio equipment is mandatory.

Flights shall establish two-way communication before entering the RMZ and maintain a continuous air-ground voice communication watch, as necessary, on the appropriate frequency, unless complying with alternate provisions.

Two-way comms are considered to be achieved when the following have been passed; callsign, type, position, level, Flight rules, and the intentions and has received acknowledgement from ATC
