Q

What are the extrinsic motives?

A
  • Attract to the activity and provide early motivation.
  • If used too much it may undermine the value of the activity and intrinsic motivation, therefore players compete for just the reward.
  • Extrinsic rewards may put pressure on players to achieve and if they dont get the reward, motivation can be lost.
  • Same pressure may also promote cheating.
