Phenomenon
A perceptual or sensory experience that might be supernatural
noumenon
reality; an object that actually exists.
phenomenon/noumenon distinction

Natural vs. Supernatural
Natural: concrete objects, pitted against abstract objects which are super-natural
Natural Philosophy
Essentially science.
Rationalism
Knowledge can be acquired without reason (a priori).
This system is perfectly sufficient (it can explain everything!)
Empiricism
No knowledge can be required through reason alone, experience is needed. (A posteriori)

Certainty
an objective quality of propositions stating impossibility of isolation
isolation
