what is the structure of the poem
It has four stanzas with four lines each.
What is the rhyme pattern and the significance
for the first three stanzas it goes abab but then in the last stanza it changes to abba which is significant because it shows there is a change of setting and tone/mood.
what is the first part of the poem about
How his father grieved his wife and was in denial
what is the last stanza about
Him realizing how his dad felt and both his parents are dead and he talks about how he misses them but they are now together.
why is “life ends with death” important
He realized everyone dies at some point but also after living a life you die so it kind of relates to the fact he still have things to do in his life before he dies.
How does the father feel about his wife’s death
he is in denial and 2 years later still keeps a hot water bottle by her side to keep her remembered showing they had real love and he actually loved her and misses her.
